World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ)
World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) is the international umbrella organization that includes over 1200 Reform, Liberal, Progressive and Reconstructionist Jewish congregations with more than 1.7 million members in more than 40 countries.
Progressive Judaism is rooted in the Bible, especially the teachings of the prophets. Progressive Judaism is based on a sincere manifestation of Jewish creativity, ancient and modern, especially for those who watchman fervor and want to learn what God expects of us: justice and equality, democracy and peace, personal satisfaction and common obligations.
Practice of Progressive Judaism is fitted in Jewish thought and tradition. Progressive Judaism seeks to udvige extent of religious observance in practice full equality for all Jews regardless of gender and sexual orientation - even when that challenge traditional views of what Jewish law prescribes.
Of the about 13 million Jews in the world today, nearly one-third live in countries where Jewish life is weak and with few opportunities for meaningful Jewish livsudfoldelse. It is the goal of WUPJ to ensure all Jews an approach to an active Jewish environment that inspires them spiritually and to bring Jews together in community. We are dedicated and committed to this sacred work.

- 1,500 young people involved in weekly activities for 60 youth clubs in the former USSR
- 2,000 Jewish, Christian and Muslim families receive food aid for holy days in Israel
- 16,000 members of Netzer Olami, WUPJ's international youth movement
- 45,000 family members reached through Progressive Judaism's pluralistic Jewish study programs in Israeli public schools

In Europe the WUPJ is organized in the European Union for Progressive Judaism (EUPJ) with headquarters in London. In most countries Progressive Judaism only started within the last two decades to bloom again after the Shoah during 2nd World War.
There are currently organized progressive Jewish community in the following European countries: Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, United Kingdom, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Austria.
